Put quantities against the list on any page of the site. It takes a couple of minutes and it does not have to be perfect — a rough count against the right models is far more useful than an exact count against the wrong ones. Anything unusual goes in the notes box.
Per model, by hand, always inside one working day. You get a number for the batch and, if you want it broken down, the lines behind it. Nothing is automated and nothing is a placeholder — if a model needs checking against what it is currently selling for, we check it before we send anything.
No obligation, and no follow-up campaign if you say no. The number is agreed before anything moves, so there is no situation where drives leave your building against an offer you have not seen.
Arranged and paid for by us on anything of reasonable size, anywhere in the UK and Ireland. Leave the drives in their caddies and leave them in the shelf if that is easier. For very small batches we will send a prepaid label instead.
Drives are wiped the day they land, before anything is tested. Then they are checked against your list and payment goes out by bank transfer. If the pallet and the list disagree we tell you exactly where and why before anything is settled.
A list and an email address. That is the whole requirement. You do not need an asset register, a spreadsheet, or serial numbers — the 34 lines on our list cover what actually turns up, and anything outside them goes in the notes box as free text.
The two things genuinely worth getting right are quantities per model and anything you already know about condition. Quantity is what turns a pile of drives into a saleable lot, and it is the single biggest lever on the per-drive number. Condition matters because a realistic list gets a realistic offer that does not have to be revised after inspection, which is the outcome nobody enjoys.
Nothing. Collection is arranged and paid for by us on anything of reasonable size, the valuation is free and carries no obligation, and there is no fee deducted from what you are paid. If a batch is too small to justify a collection we send a prepaid label instead — you still pay nothing.
Every drive is wiped when it reaches us, before it is tested and long before it is sold. You are welcome to wipe them yourself first if your own policy requires it, and it makes no difference to the offer or to the price. The one thing that does cost you money is stripping drives out of servers and throwing the caddies away before you sell — a drive in its caddy is worth more than a bare one.
The usual version of "wrong" is that the pallet does not match the list — more dead drives than expected, or a model that turned out to be something else. When that happens we tell you what we actually received, what it changes, and why, before any payment is made. You can accept the revised number or have the drives back at our cost. That has to be the deal, because the alternative is a business that depends on sellers not checking.
Our buying team will come back with an offer, usually within one working day.
The offer comes back inside one working day. After that it depends on when suits you — collection is usually within a few days of you accepting, and payment goes out once the drives arrive and have been checked in. Most sellers are paid inside two weeks of the first email.
No. Nothing moves until you say so, and we do not chase. If the number is not what you hoped for, tell us what you were expecting — sometimes the answer is that the list was read wrong, and that is worth ten minutes to find out.
Send your best guess. "About sixty assorted 2.5 inch out of a 2019 refresh, mostly Samsung and Intel" is genuinely enough to price against. We confirm the detail on arrival and the offer only changes if the pallet is materially different from the description.
We do, on anything of reasonable size, anywhere in the UK and Ireland. It is not deducted from the offer.

Not through SellDrives — this site is drives only. Whole servers, arrays and networking go to our sister site sellmyservers.co.uk, and we can handle both halves of the same clearance between us on one collection.
Capacity, interface, form factor, remaining endurance on SSDs, and how many of the same model you have. Quantity matters more than most people expect: forty identical 1.92TB SAS SSDs are worth more each than four, because forty sell as a lot.
